21st Business Creation Competition : 2016 winner !
As the Monaco Business trade fair drew to a close on Tuesday 15 November 2016, Mr Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and Economy, presented the Prince’s Government Prize to the winner of the 21st Business Creation Competition, organised by the Junior Chamber International Monaco.
This year, the jury made up of representatives from the public and private sectors opted to support THOODY, a business creation project led by young Monegasque Alexis Lanari and his future partner, both students at the École Centrale de Lille.
When he sets up his company in Monaco, the young winner will benefit from financial aid totalling €40,000 and the support of numerous professionals and figures from the country’s business community, who will be able to offer advice and assistance as he launches his project.
The young engineers plan, very simply, to design and develop mobile apps for all devices aimed at both individuals and companies. They will initially launch their products on the local market, then hope to expand rapidly on the international market. It is in this respect that these young entrepreneurs see the Principality as a genuine springboard.
During his speech, the Minister congratulated all of those who took part in the competition, which once again this year attracted a large number of applicants who presented a wide range of innovative projects with enthusiasm.
Mr Castellini also recalled that the Prince’s Government regularly supports the initiatives of the Junior Chamber International Monaco. He then gave a brief presentation to the audience on the accelerator/incubator project which will be launched by the Principality in 2017.
